Does God want?
Here's something I wrote up a while ago and found it again. I had been thinking that if God had perfect love in His Trinity, then why would He have want? Why would He 'want' to create us? I came up with this:
God is a creative being. Just as we can be completely satisfied in God and with Him alone, yet we are also creative.
We don't have to plant a garden to be satisfied, we are already satisfied in God. We don't have to have a family to be satisified, we are already satisfied in God. Yet we seek these things, not out of dissatisfaction, yes out of desire, but not out of lack or 'want'. God can satisfy us and fill us. Yes we were created in the image of God, just as God was creative and made us, so we too, exhibiting His image in ourselves, are creative and desire to create things we may enjoy and use to glorify God.
