pointing in the right direction

one thing i've thought about and i want to dig into this year is the idea of glorifying God. i've thought about it before and had revelations on what it means and how it looks and how we can do it in all and any area of our lives. but i want to dig deeper and better understand the motivations behind it and how to allow a desire to glorify God to permeate every area of my life...

a few years ago i read the amazing book "The Knowledge of the Holy" by A.W. Tozer. If you haven't read it yet, read it. It'll take you a while because it is extremely pithy, but it'll definitely be worth the read.

here's a quote from it that i had written in a journal entry a few years ago...

“I can no more do justice to that awesome and wonder-filled theme (God’s love) than a child can grasp a star. Still, by reaching toward the star the child may call attention to it and even indicate the direction one must look to see it. So, as I stretch my heart toward the high, shining love of God, someone who has not before known about it may be encouraged to look up and have hope.”

how am i pointing people toward God? sure, i can never do justice to truly explain Him. but, like a child pointing at a star, i can direct people toward Him. how am i doing that? how am i glorifying God?
