workaholic

7/10/02 5:44 pm - in pyramid - 1st night

sitting outside listening to people. They're talking about airplanes, that's what they do. Others are talking about computers thats what they do. People talk a lot about what they do & they like to talk about it.

I don't enjoy talking about computers. "yeah, I got a new 512MB 1200athalon 80GB computer. ...Oh yeah, you can send a 2mb file across this e-mail system really quick." I don't care, does it work? Great, let's talk about something else. i dont like talking about that stuff.

--------------------------
I thought I had written more than that, but that was something I wrote years ago (as you can see from the date and the 'new' computer description) when I was in Indonesia the first time ("pyramid - 1st night" = pyramid was the location where the MAF family conference was, 1st night = I wrote that on the first night of the conference).

I might add to this later but I've found that so many people's jobs take over their lives. Either that or they struggle to keep their lives (the things they really want to do, the people they really want to be) separate from their jobs. so I want a job where my job can be my life, or, maybe to put it better--I want to live my life and have that be my job. which i'm kinda doing right now and i hope to do with the rest of my life.

so many people make their job their life. i want my life to be my job.
